Wow is all I can say about the hospitality at Ingleside Vineyards. We joined a club called Harvest Hosts, you pay a yearly membership fee and then you can stay at participating, wineries, breweries and farms etc... You just dry camp (no hookups) wherever they have room. The idea is that you stay only one night and purchase something unless you get permission from your host to stay two nights. Check out the views, we had the whole vineyard to ourselves.
Chris is one of the owners and he made sure we had everything we needed. We had a great conversation with him about Harvest Hosts and Ingleside Vineyard.
Debbie did our wine tasting, she was very knowledgeable and super sweet.
We came to this part of VA to do an oyster/wine crawl for Renee's birthday, we ended up going to one winery and then came back to ours and never left because it was so good. I mean come on live music, grilled oysters and good wine!!!! Rocky, his wife Blaire and his family were grilling oysters and serving cheese plates all day. They own a little market in Colonial Beach called Denson's that also has an oyster bar. Rocky told us "he has never had so much fun working so hard for so little than when he started his family business". He also said if he was not doing this he would want to be traveling like us.
Unbeknownst to us this area is also the birthplace of George Washington and James Monroe. Upon discovering this Tim took a couple of pictures to send to his brother Todd who is a history buff (by education and hobby). Todd responded with a dissertation on the area, that was fun!
